Bathroom Fire

This bathroom fire was the result of an unattended candle. While entertaining guests the owner lit a scented candle in the downstairs bathroom. The candle fell over and started to burn the wallpaper. The fire was discovered almost immediately but not before causing extensive damage to the bathroom. Not only was the bathroom damaged, the entire house was damaged by smoke and soot. The homeowners insurance company called in SERVPRO of Farmingdale/Massapequa to thoroughly clean the structure and contents and deodorize the building. Although most of the building responded well to cleaning there were rooms that required painting and redecorating. The bathroom that the fire started in had to be completely redone. The homeowner was very lucky that there were no injuries to both there family members or there guests.
